What SAH Academy keeps about you

Who we are

SAH Academy is an online Arabic academy. This page explains what we collect when you use the site, why, and what you can ask us to do with it.

What we collect

• Your account. Your name, e-mail address and a password we store only as a hash. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, e-mail address and Google account id, and nothing else from your Google account.
• Your learning. Which courses you join, the lessons you finish, quiz and flashcard results, assignments you hand in, the study plan you set, and the certificates you earn.
• What you write. Discussion posts, questions to teachers and messages in the study assistant, so teachers can answer them.
• Sister or brother. Only if you tell us, and only so that groups held for sisters or for brothers admit the right people. Nothing else uses it.
• Technical records. Sign-ins and the actions your account takes, kept in a log so we can keep accounts safe and answer support questions.

How we use it

To run your courses, show your progress, let teachers mark your work and answer you, send you the e-mails you have asked for (reminders, replies, announcements, certificates), and keep the site secure. We do not sell your data, show advertising, or share your information with anyone outside the academy except the services below.

Services we rely on

• Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
• Google Cloud, which hosts the site and its database.
• Bunny.net, which streams lesson videos.
• An e-mail delivery service, for the messages the site sends you.

Cookies

One cookie keeps you signed in, and two small settings remember your language and light or dark theme. There are no tracking or advertising cookies.

How long we keep it

For as long as your account exists. Ask us to close your account and we delete it along with your progress, posts and settings; certificates already issued keep a record of your name and the course so they can still be verified.

Your choices

You can change your name, password, language and e-mail preferences under My account, and turn activity e-mails off at any time. To see a copy of what we hold, correct it, or delete your account, write to us at the address below.

Children

The academy is for learners aged 13 and over. Younger students may join only through a parent or guardian, who manages the account.
